The DG Sante tender PiSCE on self-management in minor conditions had to be suspended in September last year following the tragic bankruptcy and dissolution of the CBO Institute for Quality (reported in our news feed) as CBO were the consortium leaders. Since then the other Consortium members, DCHE (Danish Centre for Health Education), CPME, FAD and EHFF have been working with the Commission to rescue the project, deal with the financial consequences of this very unexpected event and to reconstitute the Consortium, with DCHE in the lead.
The meeting of the PiSCE stakeholder platform, hoisted by DCHE on June 28/29 in Copenhagen marked the re-start of the project, although we are waiting on a formal signature from the head of Unit John Ryan to finalise the process. The situation was reviewed with the stakeholder group and plans drawn up for a timetable including a final conference somewhere around February next year, depending on other Commission scheduled events. DCHE were thanked by all concerned for their support during the rescue process.
