It’s the holidays!
Although this is a time for recreation and an escape from work related travel, it’s also an opportunity for consolidation. Here are five activities occupying us at EHFF during August:
a) in June the partners of the EMPATTICS Horizon 2020 project, including EHFF and FAD met online with the Project Officer and referees from the European Commission to review the end of the project. Many of the outputs have since been required to have slight modifications. In the case of the deliverable that FAD and EHFF collaborated on, this amounts to us providing a short executive summary to what was otherwise a very long document. We hope to complete this before the middle of August and submit it.
b) The work that CEMPaC and EHFF completed as phase 1 of our contract with the Irish HSE, which we reported on in a news item of July 5th has now been written up and shared with the colleagues in the HSE. The review allowed Jim and Jeni to define their work programme for phase 2 of the contract, starting in the Autumn.
c) We are undertaking a small piece of work initially to assist the Dissemination plan for the Horizon 2020 project COMPAR-EU which is led by FAD. For more details of the project see: https://self-management.eu/compar-eu-project/
In this phase we are advising on likely policy development in the field of self-management in chronic diseases and are being assisted by Agnieszka Daval (in her Philips Europe role) and Kaisa Immonen from EPF and aim to complete a short report by the end of August.
d) We are drafting the report commissioned by WP7 of the Chrodis Plus Joint Action. As we reported in July, a presentation was made in Budapest in May and we are now completing the work with a view to attendance at a WP7 workshop in Rome in mid-October where all the participants in the WP will present their findings.
e) The European Commission has launched a consultation on the Horizon Europe 2021-2024 framework for research funding, which closes September 8th. EHFF is keen to submit a response, as no doubt most other EU NGOs, as well as other players will. We discussed this at the recent Operations meeting on July 26th and the EHFF team are now working together on the draft.
