Tiia Tammaru is Chairman of the Board of EAQ Estonian Association for Quality. She has represented Estonia in international Quality organizations EOQ, EFQM, was Vice President of European Organization for Quality in 20042011 and is member of EOQ General Assembly. She is a research scientist at Tallinn University of Technology, and has been lecturing in the topics of Strategic and Quality Management in different Estonian universities and HEIs. Her PhD studies explored ’National Quality Promotion and Use of Excellence Models: Case of Estonia’. In the past 20 years she has been actively involved in the development of National Quality Policy and participating in different roles expert, trainer, member of jury in several projects, including Estonian Quality/Excellence Award and recognition schemes, Quality Innovation Award, sectorial schemes Tallinna School Quality Award, Estonian Vocational Institutions’ Quality Award, Quality Assurance in Estonian HEIs, Public Sector Quality Award, Estonian Tourism Quality Programme. Tiia has been assessor of European Quality Award in 19982000 and EFQM Excellence Award in 2011. She is also member of Technical Committee EVS/TK 33 ’Management Systems’ of Estonian Centre of Standardisation and has translated a few ISO standards into the Estonian language. She has been supporting, consulting and training organizations in a variety of sectors in strategic management, TQM, quality management, process management, selfassessment, teamwork, problem solving and creativity tools etc. Tiia has been the leader of developing and organizing the Quality Managers Competence training programme since 1999.
