Basia Kutryba is Founder of the Polish Society for Quality Promotion in Healthcare (TPJ; Vice President since 2014); Senior Adviser and co-founder of the National Centre for Quality Assessment in Health Care –(NCQA Krakow; 1994-onwards); Chair of the EU Working Group, later Expert Group, on Patient Safety and Quality Care (2007-2017); member of JCI European Accreditation Council (2007-2011); consultant to Arab Medical League since 2000; President of the European Society for Quality in Healthcare (ESQH; 2007-2011); now ESQH Fellow. Country coordinator in many EU projects on healthcare quality, efficiency and effectiveness: CEEQNET, ENQuAL; MARQuIS; HANDOVER; DUQuE, MAP4E; national contact point in European Union Network for Patient Safety and Quality of Care (PaSQ). Partner in EU Self – Care project consortium; expert in EU PISCE project. Lead and coordinator of Report of the Patient Safety and Quality of Care Expert Group of the European Commission: Key findings and recommendations on Education and training in patient safety across Europe. WHO patient safety expert; member of the Steering Committee in WHO Global Challenge on Patient Safety. Medication without Harm.
