Healing Organisations; 11th International Metaphorum Conference 1st – 3rd November, Liverpool UK

Metaphorum is a society, of which most members are experts in systems theory, which commemorates and explores the application of Stafford Beer’s Viable Systems model (VSM). VSM has been one of the constructs which has guided us in the development of EHFF as an agile, network based organisation.

An introduction to Stafford Beer and the VSM model, taken from the Metaphorum website is here

Sean Conlan and David Somekh were therefore delighted to be invited to be invited to participate as speakers after previous lengthy discussions and sharing of views with Prof. Gerald Midgely (who belongs to the EHFF Community), Jon Walker and Angela Espinosa.

The flyer for the meeting is here. At the tien of writing this news feed, the proceedings of the conference are not yet on the Metaphorum website, although they are promised shortly. The rather laid-back and conversational session from Sean and David was accompanied by slides here which describe the evolution of EHFF as a concept and how we have started to put it into practice.
