It’s hard to believe that three years have passed since EHFF as a fledgling organisation attended the kick-off of this project at the Brussels Natural History museum in Spring of 2013.
The closing conference reflected the extensive work that has been undertaken by the Member States involved on developing a coherent picture of health workforce planning across Europe. The agenda is here.
A good overview of the project is contained in the presentation from Zuzana Matlonova and colleague from the Ministry of Health Slovakia on the rationale, history and outcomes of the JA.
EHFF were directly involved in WP6, on horizon scanning, which was led by the UK based Centre for Workforce Intelligence and their closing report is here.
The second day started with an overview of the project from the European Commission, represented by Andrzej Rys, Director of the SANTE DG health and food safety. He also looked to the future and what issues needed to be follow-up in policy and in research terms. His presentation is here. Finally, we note the presentation from OECD Health Division which links this work with theirs on that topic and to the WHO strategy health workforce 2030.
